RACE FOR THE TITLE
When the 2011/12 Barclays Premier League title race went to the final game of the season, Barclays - as the title sponsor - wanted to run a series of ads to promote this.
As the title could only be won by Manchester United or Manchester City, we ran a series of ads in the build up to the games with the engraver’s hand poised to add 'City' or 'United' to the already engraved 'Manchester'.
A nine hour photo shoot with the trophy was required in the days running up to the fixtures, and two versions of the final ad were created.
When Manchester City clinched the title in dramatic fashion, the second stage of the pre-created ads was released across social media and in the following morning's press with the complete engraving.
